Is there a way of refurbishing these hinges?
The holes in the steel part where the pin pivots have worn giving considerable play. I thought about drilling out the old pin and fitting a larger diameter one but what are my chances being able to drill out a steel pin in the aluminium arm without wrecking it?

Mine were similarly worn. Luckily I managed to drift the old pins out then I re-drilled the aluminium to 8mm and inserted a short length of silver steel rod. Finally, I tack welded the rod to the steel carrier so the rod has to pivot in the aluminium.

Three years later still working fine.

Good luck !

I am just finishing off tests on my latest redesign of these, S/S pins with glacier bearings if you interested (I was asked to do some by heightswitch and after 3 different versions) I am now happy to get them back to him. Adrian@

Could be interested, I assume you would need my hinges to upgrade - how much?

When I refurbed my hinges I drilled out the pivots ,Machined some phosphur bronze bushes to suit 8mm stainless bar and fabricated some new cases.A bit over the top I suppose?

Not sure on the prices as yet, but yes, I need your old units, and I have the steel casings in zinc plating (which if required are extra) to allow a full reconditioning service.
