Was recommended this site for some how to's with my D40x. Written by a guy in the US I think.

Seems pretty good for the newbies and not at all daunting.. Just thought I'd share it;

Where's that popcorn smily? smile

Would be fair to say that Mr Rockwell doesn't always get the highest level of respect... Whilst he's good at promoting himself and his site, and communicates well, he's very opinionated and biased. I find it hard to respect someone who uses probably the best digital SLR money can buy (D3) and couples it with a consumer super-zoom shooting jpeg in full auto.

Take everything with a pinch of salt is all!

Ken Rockwell does not adjust his exposure to the available light, he adjusts the available light to match his exposure.

I shall get me coat then!!wink

I do agree he is a bit of a self publicist, I was more interested in his thoughts on using the D40 and D40x...

As with anything on t'internet, pinch of salt is required!!

My favs are still
"Ken Rockwell is the only person to have photographed Jesus; unfortunately he ran out of film and had to use a piece of cloth instead. "

and

"The term tripod was coined after his silhouette."
