Hi all,

My trusty Sony Digital Handycam DCR-TRV11E mimi DV camcorder has finally given up the ghost after a good few years of service.

I need a replacement that'll still be roll cage mounted in the Ultima (I have a good mount) and give really good sound and vibe free pic recording.

I never really liked the faff of the DV cassettes so doing a search I see you can get solid state, disc, SD cards etc.

Mainly used on track days where I would record no more than 4hrs of shooting, I normally down load through the fire wire to PC and then edit for upload to PH TV or you tube. This is an example:

I've tried bullet cams, but really didn't like them image wiring or sound see what I mean:

Can anyone suggest a £500 or sub camcorder that will do what I need with a minimum of fuss.

Lighter the better, shock risistance a must and the ability to record four hours without a change of media.

Thanks in advance.

Pete

not too up on camcorders, but I hear fastfilms are really good for this sort of thing.

Thanks, yes, been trawling this forum since my OP, looks like I need an SD card camcorder with a AV in for occasional bullet. Shame they don't seem to do any!!

Now looking at the Panasonic SDR SW20. Looks like it's a go anywhere do anything 'corder suited a a bit of external suction mount antics in the wet.

Any experience?
