Just a warning for all. The above TVR Cerbera is up for sale on this site & Autotrader. Although i think its the genuin owner, he is a scammer, he sold me the car through Exchamge & Mart about 6 weeks ago. I got over excited as it was to be my first TVR & parted with my cash before the car was due to be delivered to me from abroad, from a Escrow company called Transportservlive.com. The car never tured up & i lost lots of cash.

The car is now up for sale again & the owner is completely ignoring me.

The guy claims to lives in Moray in Scotland & is he called Moray???

Looking back i was an idiot, will buy my first TVR in person i guess!!!

Gutted isn't the word!!

I'm normally so careful, the web site had a live help desk, a tracking device, the lot!! I was emailed by lots of different employees from different departments! I tracked the car as it went from spain, to france, to the UK & then into thin air!!!

I've been working on this for weeks, i have reported it to the police, have crime ref, the lot.

I think i have an address now, you can find so much through google if you keep digging!!

I have reported it to Piston Heads & will do soon to Autotrader. I previously got it removed from Exchange & Mart.

Apparently the Met police are going to make a documentry on these shipping scams, i've been advised there are 1000's of them going on.

I've got the address binned, i've google earthed it & it looks similar to the pictures.

I was almost on the train to go up there the other day, misses talked me out of it!

Situation is this, i have given this person the opportunity to convince me they are not the same person as the one that scammed me, they will not reply anymore. I've mailed back & let them know i have their name, address, all different emails from different computers so i'm going to get all of the IP address traced. They will not reply.

I would like to go & beat the living s##t out of them, but the way the law is, i wont get my money back or the car & will end up in a right mess.

(Cheers for the muscle offer, its more than appreciated)

Okay enough's enough. I have soken with AL123 on the telephone tonight and hopefully he is now satisfied that he has the wrong person. I have agreed to cooperate with him in anyway and that includes sending the police round to my door and inviting them to take my PC and search all the drives and hard disk to see if I have scammed him. So you all know the story and before anyone else plans on calling me or accusing me of being a scammer this is my side. I am selling a TVR Speed Six that I bought about 3 - 4 months ago. AL 123 emailed me accusing me of scamming him and I replied that I did not know what he was talking about. He then emailed me again another half dozen times threatening me with police CID and other things to which none of I replied. Maybe I should have and this would never have got this far and my reputation would still be intact. But on advice from the Police who I contacted myself, they informed me not to and to see what came of it. I hear you say I contacted the police....of course I did if someone is threatening me then of course I am going to find out where I stand. And as sated they advised to do nothing and see what came of it. So tonight AL 123 calls me and we discuss at length on the situation. At the end of our conversation he had stated that he was sorry and he would not be bothering me again. Well now I hope he does as thanks to a fellow PistonHeader who called me anonymously and told me about this forum I am extremley P****d off at being accused of lieing cheating and scamming. I have nothing to hide unlike people on this forum threatening me and accusing me, people who hide behind their PC's instead of picking up the phone and asking me myself go on try it you will find out that I am still connected and the advert is still on both sites.
You may wonder why I am typing this but when you are as innocent as I am & so peed off with people I have never met threatening me and possibly my family then what would you all do in my shoes.
I honestly sympathise with AL 123 but there is not much I can do as I have no way of proving anyone used my advert. To be honest if AL 123 thinks that he can buy a 99 Cerbera for 8K then maybe he should have done his homework a little better before commiting. The old adage of....if it seems to good to be true then it probably is...comes to mind.
Now I have given my side I challenge AL 123 and the rest on the forum to do the right thing and help a genuine TVR owner sell his vehicle or maybe even apologise for jumping the gun on this.

Good of you to reply. I was reserving judgement as these things never turn out the way they seem - however, there is always an urge to help a fellow TVR enthusiast & I'm sure that was the sentiment behind the posts on this thread. I'm sure the vitriol is aimed at the scammer rather than yourself.

It would be good to see an apology from AL 123 on this thread.

As it turns out my brother lives a few houses down from you...if you see a blue V8S visiting, say hello !

I'm an honest person, that works an honest days for his money. This scam took place on me 6 weeks ago. The seller claimed the car had 53,000 miles on the clock. As soon as i have finished being scammed, the car comes back up for sale with 53,500 miles on the clock, a few weeks later its for sale on another site with 54,00 miles on the clock, what would you think???

I contacted you under another name a few weeks ago, Jack Greening, my aim being to try to catch the person that stole my money, you told me that the car was in Scotland, i sounded uninterested, you said i can fly up here with easy jet or a similar airline for about £80, i said ok i'll do it, i asked for your address & you said i'll meet you at the airport, i said it was no bother, i'd make my way to yours, whats the address & you said, no i'll meet you at the airport. IS THIS CORRECT OR NOT?? I'm not telling any lies so i'd rappreciate it if you also do not!?

We then discussed payment terms etc & you sent me the following text word for word "This can only work if we trust one another i want to sell you want to buy the other option is you can come up & see it or get the aa to check it over"

After being scammed i then read up on the scams, another tell tail sign is somebody wanting to meet you at the airport but not giving their address.. hello??

And another thing, i kept emailing saying, if you are not the person that ripped me off, contact me & we'll eliminate you from the situation, you not contacting me says a lot to me.

I do not wish to blame you if this was not you, it just all seems a little coincidental that a few weeks after this happened its up for sale again on the 2 out of 3 web sites not previously used, with the perfect milage record.

The previous fake seller had moved abroad, you are working abroad, you told me tonight you hadn't ben to spain since you were 3, why would you tell me that???

Yes we spoke on the phone tonight, you told me youd been involved in one of these scams for a land rover, really???

I will openly appologise & post you up a case of your favourite tipply if i am wrong!!
Getting a friend to send the previous post is feeble!!

What would you summise from this Moray if you was me, all things considered?!

If that is aimed at me then you're way off the mark. I've never met this gentleman. I offered to help you previously as I know the area and could have had someone check whether the address was genuine.

His response seemed pretty genuine to me - surely it's possible that someone used the details from his advert to set up a scam ?

Anyway...don't know why I bothered. Sheesh...

AL123.... What price was the car advertised at, on the advert you replied to ? Also, what phone number did you originally respond to ?

If I'm honest, it looks like the sellers advert has been cloned. Seen it quite a few times. Mainly, proper adverts off eBay are then mimicked on eBay & Auto trader.

Alex, Like I said to you on the phone I have nothing to hide you know all about me, my contact numbers and where I live please feel free to have the police CID yourself or anyone come and see for themselves that I am a genuine seller and NO Scammer.
So you tried to decieve me by fronting as someone else ...I don't blame you for that....but now who is being deceitful. I understand your frustration and trying to get your money back, however your not happy just accusing me you accuse Gifdy also of helping out, you've lost the plot and paranoia has set in deep.

Gifdy apologies for dragging you in on this and I appreciate your comments.....If your brother is close by ask him to drive by and he can see a genuine car for sale and not a sammer.

I'm guessing Al's original contact with the scammer was by email only.

But when he pretented to be "Jack Greening" smile and spoke to you, is it right that you'd only meet him at the airport ?
