Forza Car Packs
Discussion
Here's what they said in PitPass 94
" Some of you out there are asking, pleading, angrily demanding, etc. an answer to the question of whether there are more DLC cars or tracks coming in the near future. So rather than go in and respond to every message in every thread, I'll just make a general explanation here; Forza 2 DLC is currently on hold as it's all hands on deck at Turn 10 for our new projects. Our next game is also going to be our greatest game yet, which means we honestly need lots of resources dedicated to the effort. In fact, we've been hiring developers like crazy in order to meet our spec. Although there's no DLC in the pipeline, it doesn't mean we've turned our backs on Forza 2; on the contrary, the game continues to astound us with its usage numbers on Xbox Live and we fully plan on supporting Forza 2 for the foreseeable future. So in case you were thinking otherwise, stick around because we're just getting started. "

That answers that then! Cheers for the quick response. Its a pity I suppose, but then Forza 3 will no doubt be pretty damn good.
Any ideas on a release date?
I reckon that we might see a teaser trailer in Q1 2009 or possibly very late this year and have the game by Q4 of that year. So late 2009, which is the estimated time Gran Turismo 5 could be out...Any ideas on a release date?
It's pants really, FM2 has only been out just over a year, and 3 car packs and 2 tracks (of which one was a bit dull and boring) is nowt.
When you look at the scale of the DLC for games such as Rock Band, it brings things like FM2 into stark contrast. People have been asking for more tracks since day one of FM2, and two tracks is really poor.
FM3 is still - realistically speaking, years away.

Good point, I thought it was just me that thought the extra downloads had been a bit on the thin side. I mean the cars cant be that difficult to produce. For some of the PC games, there are tons of cars that are home made and are spot on.When you look at the scale of the DLC for games such as Rock Band, it brings things like FM2 into stark contrast. There's a whole bundle of add-on cars for rFactor that are just pants. The 3d model is the "easy" bit to produce, the handling and physics are the biggest part, and only very few (no more than 10-15 mods on rfactorcentral imo) have the handling/physics "right". In no way am i criticising, as I couldn't do a better job, but it takes someone (or a team) of some considerable talent to get a mod driving right. It's second-hand, but someone on a forum I've been on for years worked for T10, and it sounded like they had a really tough time with the artwork (ie look at some cars' interior - dashboard view was meant to be implemented but was cut last minute; look at the extensive body mods for some cars, none for others - all cars were meant to get loads of bodykits) and the multiplayer - there were meant to be car clubs, clans, etc. Hopefully they will get the icing finished this time around.
