Peter Wheeler

Just heard a rumour that Peter Wheeler may have cancer. Has any body got any info on this? I hope its not true as i have a lot of respect for him.

I dont find it distasteful at all. I think the subject was raised out of genuine concern for someone that obviously is indirectly "close" to all Tivver fans.

Why is it so distasteful? Is there a PH ban on discussing cancer? Or Peter Wheeler? Or both? If someone expresses genuine concern for an illness in someone they respect or admire, what exactly is the problem? Would it be different if it read "Peter Wheeler has heart failure?"

The only issue to my mind is the "rumour" aspect. If confirmed, then it's a reasonable topic to be discussed amongst TVR lovers.

Firstly, is it genuine concern? 99% of stuff on these pages isn't.

There may not be a "ban" on discussing it, but singling out an individual when it may not even be true isn't on in my book.

IF the man is ill, and IF the man wants people to know, I am sure it will get into the press, and IMO that is the channel it should come through - not some spurious thread based on rumour.

As I said - it's the rumour aspect which is the only area of concern. However, if some snotty little provincial journo gets a whiff of the rumour, and sticks it in the Blackpool gazette as a story, well, that's better - it's in a paper so it must be true.
