Has anyone got one and are they as good as they look?
For those who don't know what I'm on about, it is a steering wheel with hand stitched leather, six speed and reverse gear box and pedal box complete with clutch and pneumatic(?) springs/dampers.
Does anyone know if they are in shops yet and if so, where, as I have only seen them online?

They're excellent, but the shifter is pretty crap. Very plasticy.
Mine no longer has reverse, and 2nd flicks between 2nd and 4th randomly. I think you can change the pot's in the base of the unit, but that would void the guarantee. They do replace broken units without complaining though.
Wheel wise, its great for the money. There's better wheels, not not for anything like the same budget.

Yes, got one, it is very good, never had any problems with it so far but would agree the shifter is lose and has no force, wheel is excellent although the table clamps aren't brilliant.
Also look at the Fanatech Porsche 911 Turbo wheel which i like, it is wireless, has better table clamp and the Break pedal and Gear leaver have resistance which i like.
Both are good, but i think with the current sexchange
rate at Euro 299 the Porsche wheel is more.

We've just got some of these new Porsche kits at work. The gearbox feel is much better than the G25's - I would be surprised if anyone argued otherwise having used both. However, it seems a bit naff having a faux-Porsche wheel somehow. Also look at the Fanatech Porsche 911 Turbo wheel which i like, it is wireless, has better table clamp and the Break pedal and Gear leaver have resistance which i like.

I have been through variuos cheaper models over the years, from Logitech, Fanatec and others...
This is by far the best at a reasonably price. There are better but with pedals and gearbox you probably looking at £1500 rather than £150.
I managed to pick mine up on ebay recently for just under £100 it was 2nd hand but hardly used and was like new when it arrived!
I've used mine so far on GT5P (awesome, and loads quicker than controller)and Dirt on PS3 plus LFS on PC.
From someone who has spent more than the £150 it will cost you on the budget ones i would say its the best money i have spent on gaming stuff. I have used the DFP and its pretty good too but the build quality, FF and clutch make this so much more!

Quick note to those who have broken g25's in any way.
Try out logi's returns service, give them an email or call, they are one of the best I have ever used, in any sector. And more often than not will send out a brand new replacement..
I got a brand new g5 mouse because minewas skipping, they asked some questions, then the serial code, then asked me to send them the cut off end in the post to prove it was not in use, and a new one arrived the nest day
Spot on, oh and the g25 is awesome

I bought a PS3 back in March with Prologue and GTA4 and I'm not sure if it's just me that gets incredibly frustrated with how hard it is to control throttle on Prologue with the controller, but will getting a wheel and pedals make a difference?
I don't think I'm a particularly bad driver, but I have trouble getting decent lap times in a RWD car because I can't stop it spinning and fishtailing!
Also, do you need a desk to use a steering wheel or can you just rest it on your lap?

You will need a desk but a propper throttle pedal will fix your spinning problems (providing you dont have a lead foot)I don't think I'm a particularly bad driver, but I have trouble getting decent lap times in a RWD car because I can't stop it spinning and fishtailing!

Hi people,
I bought a G25 for my PS3 in May, and although I think it looks/works fantastic in the front room my o/h does not agree and makes me put in storage after use...
It basically means I am not using it (maybe on used for 5 hrs) and would rather someone else was getting the use of it.
Frop me a pm if you are interested, I bought it for £165, will sell for £125, it has all receipts, boxes etc etc,
Can also be used on PS2 and PC,
Cheers,
David
