I want to fit a high level brake light, the options I have are:

1. Fit one on the boot lid
2. Fit one inside the car
3. Drill hole in the boot lid and fit LEDs

However, the problem is that I cannot find a light that fits the boot lid, or where to place one in the car (so it's visible with the roof up/down) or the expense for fitting one in the boot lid (not to mention I'm accident prone and don't trust myself with a drill and my TVR).

Any ideas of how and which lights to get?!

I have one fitted to the roof bar and shines out through the rear screen, but only when roof piece is up. Came off ebay about £5.

Cool - at that price, worth getting anyway! I might be able to fashion something for when the roof is down! Many thanks.

Fitted brake light unit from Audi TT Roadster to my Chim. Admittedly did have to m/c adaptor plate to fit profile of boot lid & fitted it as close to rear screen as possible so quite flat. Very effective & cost was about £25.00 (excluding the adaptor plate) from an Audi dealer.

Ah! Any chance of a piccy? Do you have a part number or anything? This could solve my problem when the roof is down!

I don't have a picture to had but my Dad has the factory Chimaera development car's high level brak light on his Chimaera very generously donated by Gaffer's Dad before he was taken from us.

It is in fact a Jaguar part and looks very good. I'l try and dig out a picture for you.

It was fitted to David's car along with a number of other development/trial parts before an unfortunate accident whils a customer was driving the car resulting in it being written off.

Hi,

I have a Hella (part no. 5242) high level brake fitted to the boot on my Griffith. I found this by searching the threads on here, think there was a picture too.
