I mean a real classic, a ~1935 8C with a 2+2 body by Brianza.

A chap turned up with one to a cricket match I played in on Saturday. It's been in his family since the mid-50's and was in lovely original condition - although the red paint looked a bit fresher than 1935. The noise was fabulous, and the thing looked utterly wonderful in the sunshine.

Young SS 3.5 got a ride in it; I was able to tell him it did about 130mph, but was stumped when he asked the value.

Anyone got any educated guesses?

Hmmm. I'm prepared to bet you're out by a factor of 20.....

I think he's out by a factor of 10 certainly!

Cool car. Great to see/hear it being used.

I know a short-chassic 'Monza' model went for >$2m a few years ago. This one is similar to the long-chassis cars that won Le Mans 3 times.

Sorry an 8C, my mistake.
