Hi

Looking seriously toward an Exige as the next car now, just one question that could change that though. Are there any Exige owners who are about 6'2, I know I'll fit in the car fine, but am worried about whether I'll fit in with a lid on come trackday time?!

Thanks in Advance

Headroom in the Elise/Exige is normally pretty good, its generally room for legs and knees around the steering column and gearshift that taller guys have trouble with.

Of course, assuming you don't mind looking like a bit of a knob, you can always take the test drive in your lid - know one is going to recognise yousmile

Agreed - I'm about 6' and don't have any problems wearing a helmet. The seat adjustment is okay for leg length, the only thing that annoyed me is that 'off centre' steering wheel...which is why I changed mine smile

Not half as daft as taking mine into the optician so I could make sure new glasses fitted under it paperbag

You'll need to try it, height isn't the greatest metric, as it all depends on the proportions of your body - for some people it'll be okay, for others it won't even though they are the same height.

and of course amount of padding on the seat will effect clearance too....

I am around 6'1", but relatively short legs relative to torso. I do not fit in an S2 exige with std or probax seats without the helmet scraping on the roof. The probax seats were worse than the older ones. I suggest sitting in one with a helmet on - you will immediately know if it is OK. If you are 6'2" with relatively long legs though, it should be fine.

I changed my seat on my S2 elise and gave it more rake. I am now fine with a helmet even when the hardtop is on.

Thanks guys, thats much appreciated, one of my friends had a VX220 and I could fit in this and drive it ok, it was just head clearance with a helmet I was worried about.

Guess I should try it out as advised.

I'm 6'4" and managed to fit in one at a Silverstone expericence day, it was a wee bit tight but after a few laps I forgot all about it.

Hiya.

I'm 6'6 and I fit in no problem. But then again my upper body is quite short so that may account for it. The only thing you may have a problem with is line of vison. If it's got the sun visors you won't be seeing much.

I'm assuming we are talking about an S2 Exige? I'm 6'3" and in the S1 Exige I couldnt fit in wearing a helmet - and if I couldnt track a car made for the track it had to be scrubbed from the list.

The S2 Exige I fit fine wearing one.

Forgot about that, took mine out as soon as I got it, pain in the arse to do though with an allen key.
