Hi,

I thought people had made the decision to have all the competition threads under one stickied post??

So why is the photo competition thread stickied a the top, but the photoshop competition and chat are hidden away in the other sticky??

Also, the photoshop competition links are old, and the new ones need adding to the sticky.

We should just go back to the old way of having 4 stickys at the top of the page for the 4 competition threads, it was way easier.

Anyway, someone please get the new photoshop competition threads stickied into the competition thread:

I thought they weren't going to be stickied anymore and that seems fair enough - they get enough traffic to self-elevate during the month.

I didn't ask for the photo comp thread to be stickied, someone just did it. As for the multi-purpose photo comps thread at the top that should be stickied, it's a wiki so you should be able to edit it yourselfwink

No please don't sticky them, the concensus at the time was that the wiki thread was preferable. Perhaps the stickied compo thread could be UN-stickied?

Ahh right, i didn't realise the competition thread was a wiki, i'll put the new links for the photoshop competition thread up there.

Cheers

the wiki idea is rubbish tbh, doesnt work. What did work was having just the one monthly comp and having that sticky.

The photoshop comp then became a bi-monthly thing with sticky after sticky dedicated to it as the previous one wasn't pulled down.

Putting them in the wiki made it hard for a web and ph veteran like me to find, let along first time browsers that might have a go.

indeed you didnt realise and nor will a lot of members. Entries and posts to the chat and comp seem to be down

stigmund is right, the wiki idea was in response to there being so many competitions running; at some points there were 6 sticky threads which totally defeats the point IMHO.

But there will only ever be 2 competition thread running and two chat threads...

If the 2 entry threads were sticky, and they had links to the chat threads in them i thing that would be better.

Also, that link in the wiki to 'Minimans photo comp website' should be taken down. It's not been updated for years, and it's the first link on the page, so it detracts from the competition threads.

Yeah, I know, it needs updating. I will get round to it. Although not sure it is "years" hehe This is the problem with things that are done voluntarily, they tend to take a back seat behind things like, ooh, having a baby. Actually it is nearly a year since I updated it, which is pretty slack. I consider myself duly chastisedwink

ETA - of course, being a Wiki, you could remove the link if you wanted. And I could put it back hehe

So how come the photo competition thread is STILL a sticky, but the photoshop competition thread isn't???

If we're keeping the 'new format' of having them all in one thread, then that's how they should be!

(even though since we did it the amount of photoshop competition entries has dropped substantially)

Are we reverting to 'sticking' each thread individually now?
