bit sadddo this but I finally lost it and stuffed a temperature probe up the fascia ventilation outlet on my S2. wont go into all the boring scientific (ahem!) details but doing the job proper like showed that the air vent temp was plus 10 C on ambient and the newly re-gassed aircon reduced this to plus 6C.

so if I took the car abroad to Italy say, and ambient was 30 deg C, the inside of the car would be 36 C with the aircon going full blast and 40 C without. much the same as the Saudi desert.

does this sound normal to you? has any other sad bu**er done a similar test?

You've obviously got something broken somewhere, as there's no way mine is 10C hotter than ambient and the car with aircon I drove most definitely wasn't above ambient temp with the aircon on.

isn't failure of the aircon compressor a relativly common (but expensive) failure on S2 elises (pre '06 cars)
