Hi all,

I am looking for a recommendation for a video camera. It would be used for pretty basic stuff, in-car use on track days etc, so nothing too amazing needed.

I have been looking at the HD ones but obviously they are very pricey or are they worth the extra ? Budget is flexible but I was thinking around £300. Any help is much appreciated !

Thanks.

I've got one of these James: http://www.ciao.co.uk/Sony_Handycam_DCR_HC90E__611...
A bit over your budget, but it's got the all important AV IN PLUG for running a bullet cam:

It also takes still pictures too, which aren't too bad at a pinch.
Last vid I did here:

Edited to add: Get one of these too: http://www.b-hague.co.uk/camera_suction_pads_vacuu... best money I've spent ever. Brilliant bit of kit.

I just got a Panasonic GV330 (iirc) and it's bloody brilliant. Its not HD (couldn't see the point) but its a 3 CCD camera so the picture quality is excellent. Not the best looking camera in the world but you won't get a better picture for the money, £286 online.
