Was reading about Richard Noble's Thrust project in the barber's on Saturday (they had it in their pile of publications ) and started wondering if anyone had tied a jet engine to a road legal-car.

I thought you'd have to be the maddest man in the world to bother.
I think I've discovered him.

You think thats mad. a friend of mine in Holland fitted a millitary auxilliary power jet into his motor cycle with a PTO to a six speed suzuki gearbox so drive was via the back wheel!
only real problem was fuel tank range!

I read on the net a policeman discovered what appeared to be a plane crash in the side of a cliff, some mad yank had strapped a jet engine to his pick-up. Doesn't steer too well once you've left the ground...

It was a RATU (Rocket Assisted Take off Unit) for a fighter to help lift it from an aircraft carrier... 0 - 250 mph in a few hundrerd yards!
Still served him right for buying a Camaro! (or whatever)

Dax have fitted one in, which I've seen, which was a while back & at the time they were just about to start testing:-)
