Road 23c tyres.....wow!
Discussion
As mentioned in a previous thread I finally got my hybrid road bike. A rather nice Specialized Sirrus with a few extra upgrades on the standard bike.
Anyhow, it also came with 34c tyres which I didn't like so much and yesterday I had some 23c's fitted.
Blimey!
What a difference it makes! You get so much more speed with much less effort!! I was cruising through some very nervous tourists in Vienna city centre at about 50kph with out batting an eyelid! (Cycle paths of course....only tourists seem oblivious to this).
The only criticism has to be cobbles. Bugger me they're uncomfortable!!! I've got zero suspension on my bike and the new 23c's have noticeably less "suspension" than the 34c's. That would be my only complaint. Just means I need to adjust my routes around the city a little.....
