1st TVR for ricerocket owner....
Discussion
I am considering purchasing a TVR having been a big fan since I was 17 while I worked at TVR for the summer. Now I am old enough to ensure one and grown up enough not to stack it on day 1 I would really apprechiate some advice.
1) I like Griff 500's , T350 or Tuscan S - is £15k enough to get a decent one? I have checked the classifieds and it seems realistic (maybe not for 350)??
2) For a first TVR that I will drive at wkends only which of the above is the best option?
3) If I do c.2-3000 miles a year any ideas on running costs?
on another note , if anyone would consider a swap for a mint cond. UK 350z GT message me.
Thanks!

2) For a first TVR that I will drive at wkends only which of the above is the best option? Can only vouch for the Griff as I haven't owned the other two. Exceptional fun for a weekend toy. Be in no doubt
3) If I do c.2-3000 miles a year any ideas on running costs? On average (excluding voluntary upgrades) you'd be unlucky to have to spend more than £1000 in one year with that mileage. Possible to get away with less if the car is a good example.

I started with a Chim 450 and now have a Mk1 Tuscan. The Tuscan being a later design car is faster, better handling, bigger and better brakes and IMO looks the nuts. The Chim did however have that great V8 rumble although I still love the Tuscan engine which revs more like a racing engine.
For you budget I would start with a nice Griff and leave yourself some money in the bank for maintenance. The Griff is a cult car and the 500 will still put much more expensive machinery to shame in terms of performance. Whatever you go for, you wont be disappointed!

They are generally reliable cars too, believe it or not.actually, griff was my no1. choice! I guess I just needed the reassurance I knew i'de get here! thx.
If you pick a nice example you can pretty much guarantee that it has been cherished and well maintained with any niggles sorted.
Mega cars.
well a friend of the family ran a tvr garage for many years so i think he may help me out getting a good un. and it will be my second car so I will budget for some garage time, I guess the common misconception from anyone who doesnt own a tvr is that they spend more time in the garage than on the road, which is the main reason i got into my jap/Zs in the first place.
