The existing bag (Orion Trekker) is now borderline big-enough for general use, and will be too small for the New Zealand trip. So I need a new one.

BUT...I'd like to be able to see the insides of the bags before I buy, and there isn't a good-sized Jessops (or similar) near me, so I can't even do it the old-fasioned way.

So...is there a website anywhere that will show me what the bags look like inside and give me some dimensions?

Also, does anyone on here have any advice? I want a bigger version of the O-T, really - I need the 'non-camera' section above, plus the more-secure compartmentalised bit below.

Thanks all,

Martin.

I've got a Lowepro Computrecker. A bit too big for a holiday bag as once filled it weighs 13kg +. Lowepro do do a slightly smaller one. There was a thread about camera bags earlier this year on here with lots of good advice.

I had a Billingham 550 for about 18 years but stopped using it as I was told my back problems would only ever get worse. It was superb and the side pouches were great for filling with food and drink. I find a back pack far more comfortable.

Lowepro's site gives you a good insight into bag's internal dimensions and storage capabilities -

I've got a Tamrac Adventurer 9 which worked well for me while I was on holiday in Japan. The bottom part is front opening for a camera and gear, the back has a side zip and is for a laptop, and the top front part is meant for cables, etc, but I used it quite happilly as a travel bag.

Also try "Think Tank" bags. They have a number specifically designed to meet airline carryon regulations. I don't think they have a design the same as the Orion Trekker but you could try their backback style ones and use the dividers to make the area split between camera and non-camera.

I'm using their Spped Racer belt pack at the moment and it's beautifully made and very comfortable for carrying round all day as the belt puts the weight onto your hips rather than have it hanging off one shoulder which was giving me neck ache at the end of a long day. hvaing looked at the backpacks the Airport Ultralight has a lot of room and if you are going to carry masses and masses of kit then the Airport Acceleration may be your best bet. To give you some idea of room that's big enough for D2 fitted with 200-400 zoom to be placed in the vertical length of the bag. The bags are a bit more discreet than the norm and do not shout camera bag from miles away.

Not sure if your travel allows for it, but what i did when i went to America and Canada last year was to buy a big(ish) Peli case for everything. This went in the hold on the way there and in the boot of the car once i was there. Then used a smaller bag for day trips.
