Hi, just been for a nosey down at the TVR centre in Barnet, mainly at the couple of tuscans and t350's they have.
24k for an 03 tuscan does seem a little steep, but for £577 they will extend the warranty to 50k miles or 5 years. Seems like a bargain all of a sudden, engine packs up, rebuild required....£577 quid the cost, all covered.
Sounded too good to be true, anyone had to have major work under the warranty and had the repairs carried out hassle free?!
Cheers

Does sound like a pretty good deal. Is that the Rolex blue one? Just looking at the website. That cascade indigo Sagaris is nice!
I got my Tuscan S from there in March with a year's wear/tear warranty and haven't had any problems yet. 5 year warranty for that price is definitely worth it, although double check that the standard warranty covers engine and clutch rebuilds, as that might just be the wear/tear option.
Good luck!

I think you probably misunderstood what they were saying - the extra money will cover the car more comprehensively (including the engine wear & tear)for a 12 month period (not 5 years). This wear & tear policy is only valid for cars that are up to 5 years old or have up to 50k on the clock - it doesn't cover the car for that length of time! Hope that helps.
Yeah that Sag is fantastic looking, unfortunately they don't have it onsite at the moment, but yes you are right it's the "blue" one.
Ahhh, 12 month period for engine wear and tear....kinda puts a different perspective on things. The bloke their did say that despite it being 03, the speed six engine should be ok should it be taken care of, he thinks if looked after their good for 40/50k miles.

Engine builds did get better towards the end of 2003, so you'll probably end up with a more reliable car the later it has been built, assuming it's been driven with mechanical sympathy and always warmed up properly. Expect a few things that will need attention (i.e. throttle body balancing, etc) but these are minor things that can be sorted yourself with a bit of knowledge.
Edited as I can't spell today!

I'm crap with cars...however my old man's a pretty decent self taught mechanic.
Cars like this though tend to encourage you to find more out about their workings, particularly as it probably saves you unnecessary expediture in the long run.
I may just try and source a car that's had a recent rebuild, think that's the safest option.
