Simple and bombproof. About a 100 euro's, no kiddiestuff.

I'm thinking of a Fujifilm EX-10 cam for my 7 year old daughter.

Please some advice from you guys.

I'd check the adverts of Media Markt or so... They have got a lot of compact camera's for a nice price.
As long as you buy a well known brand, I guess not much can go wrong.

I may be buying a pocket camera too. Quality of the lenses and sensors these days is very good, and it's a lot more practical to carry around!

I'm hoping to be picking up a Kodak pocket cam at lunch - £120, not fussed about it having a 12mp sensor, but 5x optical zoom is handy, as is having it able to HD (1280x720) video recording at 30fps (with zoom working when doing video!).

Plenty of choice in the market at the moment, lots of good prices to be had.

Will just have to buy some decent sized memory cards, only got a few 2 and 4 gig ones hanging around ....

I was going to aske, which is the best small, slim camera to buy. I bought a Canon G9 for my travel and serious stuff. But would like something pretty good, not that expensive, that fits into a pocket easily for nights out etc.

Any reccomendations

Depeds on just how compact you want ...

Mate has got a Panasonic LS3, 8mp, face recognition, VGA video recording, very nice little camera. Very pocketable. Was about £120 from EBuyer.

I picked up a Kodak Z1285 at lunch. £120 from Argos, or £65 from EBuyer for a factory refurb one. 12mp (won't be using at that though), 5x optical zoom, HIGH DEF video recording (which does look very, very nice played on a HD Screen). Only catch is that it isn't quite as pocketable as the panasonic.

We did some side by side pics this afternoon, the Kodak gives richer/more vibrant colours.
