2 S's spotted.in Cheshire

A green V8s closely followed darkish mettalic red one. On Chelford Rd heading from Macclesfield towards Knutsford around 6pm. Anyone on here?

Hi Kier, they are likely to have been returning from S club, I suspect it may have been Greymrj in the green one, there were 2 dark metallic red ones from the NW area though, so I'm not sure which it was.

Well now, cannot go anywhere in this car without being spotted! Certainly sounds as if it was my car followed by jimed who was 'escorting' 'her' home as it was her first real trip out. Nice to know plasticpiq thought it was a V8!!!!! Is mine the only V6 with a V8 bonnet I wonder?

I was in the Yellow Scimitar GTC in front of you that turned into the Esso petrol station. The bonnet bump was noticeable in my mirrors so just assumed it was a V8.

Yes, remember you now, your car looked good too, a nice convoy for a bit. I'm now afraid that people like you who know about these cars will move out of the way thinking I have a V8!

Richard is correct - the red S was mine (as he says); it was good to see his car on the road even though not yet finished. I'd spotted the Yellow Scimitar as well - very tidy!
Coming down to Macclesfield the S developed a rattle which a gentle rev at the traffic lights at the bottom of the hill nicely reproduced. This continued through town and coming into Chelford there was a series of loud knocks and rattles underneath as if something had dropped off. I pulled over and looked under the car but all seemed fine so walked back up the road finding only a couple of reasonable sized stones. After that the rattle had gone so I think I'd probably picked up a couple of stones earlier and they had got lodged somewhere before rattling on the exhaust and round the prop shaft etc. Phew - that's another problem avoided - I think!

Plasticpig's car is an exceptional example, and he does seem to get about a bit.

Glad you both got back OK, hope Russ did after his problem too (and everyone of course).

Thanks Dave. No point in having it if you dont drive it. My trip was rather unexpected. The hood came off on the M1 and I got some assitance from a mate who lives up that way. Now Longers is finished with S club for the year he needs prodding into organising another Rutand Rumble

RR, what a good idea! Maybe we should allow him two days off for a rest first, let's see 12 cars, 40, 70 - I think that's about the progression so far
