As like many i love looking at what people have done to their car's, as do many others.

So come on, show us all wht you've done, be it body, engine, chassis or suspension, post up a piccy smile

I'd post some, put the Wedge is standard apart from completely straight through exhaust.

Each to their own, some get very protective or even snobbish about mods, these cars were never exactly standard anyway.

Very impressed by what some people have done, but like most others I don't always think 'wow, that's good'.

Still, I'd far rather see one moded and kept on the road rather than rot away. smile

Agreed Dan, they have always been 'individual' cars although that is not always recognised. There's nothing wrong with changing cars, if you own it, it's your choice smile

Not everyone likes the same thing, and that's good, otherwise we'd all have the same thing which would be dull. smile

TBH I love modding that has been done well. Even the saxos.

You could understand people becoming a bit reluctant to post though. The piss taking that goes on is criminal really.

For me when someone posts pictures of a MkIII cavalier, with a bit of checker plate pop riveted to the bonnet, or bodykit that's been fitted at the side of the road, I just try to keep quiet.

Then there are the people who convert Honda NSX's into Ferrari Testarossae. The one I remember seeing, actually looked pretty well executed, but I did wonder quite why one would ruin a car that way. It's not that they ruined the appearance, it's that they ruined the practicality.

Sometimes you see someone try to build a replica of 917 from scratch and it looks lousy. You wonder why they didnt just try to design something original, since they have already done 95% of the work anyhow.

Sometimes people post pictures of their cars with upgraded intercoolers, reworked suspension, lightened glassfibre bodywork that does not seem that different from the original. Sometimes the bodywork has been modified extensively to accept truly massive wheels.

In general where something has been done to make the car go better, I think it's great. If that has an impact on the cosmetics, so be it.

When it's been done to change the cosmetics, and the car is worse off for it, it seems a bit hollow.

The thing is that I try not to take the mick, even if I'm smiling inside, because I love looking at what people are doing to their cars. Everyone has to start somewhere. Not every attempt at modification is going to go well.

Each to their own, IMO.

Trouble is a lot of mods a either hard to photograph (engine for example) or just a little boring (suspension).
My mods are at present ACT de-cat manifolds, sleeved exhaust, grooved discs f&r, stainless dash, zertec indicators (rarer than hens teeth) and a leven wiper conversion. As said not the most exciting thing to show pics of.
My next mod though if I decide to go ahead will be exciting. Spoken a few times to my mechanic and starting to get a little itchy about an SC power supercharger. Just got to decide now if I just want more speed (ie/ supercharger) or something more modern (T350 or Tamora). Decisions....

Many people can get "used" to cars quickly and then find themselves wanting something else. I have many times gone out looking for something else, but for the money not a lot is more fun. So, with this philosophy in mind, it makes sense to make the car better. In my opinion it is a no brainer to make the cars handle better because some of them are outright dangerous. So much more driving fun with better handling. More power? This can become a very slippery slope! For the average driver you could not want for more power on the country roads. My modded 500 just makes it easier and lazier to get the speed on the country roads. On duel carriageways and motorways then bring it on! But this appeal rubs off quickly as well. Interior and exterior mods are just a way of staying in love with your car. I appreciate that some people dont like to change the original look. But at the end of the day, a TVR is a kit car to me and just waiting to be improved biggrin

Well, they were once kit cars of course.

And we had 117 cars at the kit car show today (may have been a couple more, I lost count a few times!).

I forgot the one of the de-catted stainless "Y" piece.
Your seats and temperature gauge look fab, but why don't they match the rest of the car? Presumably you're going to have the rest of the interior re-trimmed to match the seats and the other gauges re-faced with the oil temp gauge numerals?
