Taste Festival 2008:London
Discussion
I went to the Taste Festival in Edinburgh a few weeks ago. The friends I went with had been before but were a bit disappointed this year as everything had got much more expensive than last year.
You'll pay around £4/5 for a sample from each restaurants "menu". Everything I bought was a tiny snack size and devoured in seconds.
We did get a few freebies along the way but tbh I was a little disappointed that the Edinburgh festival seemed to be so focused around the restaurants and there were few trade stalls.
Also particularly disappointing was that there were so few Scottish food/drink stalls, although that wouldn't be a problem in London obviously.
I enjoyed the day but probably wouldn't go again.

Went yesterday. Fantastic day out, superb food, was absolutely rammed beyond belief.
Not cheap, had the Gold tickets at £55 each, plus bought another £40 worth of crowns, then entered the British Airways draw and won another 10!!!
Was struggling to spend them at the end.
Highlights were:
Parmesan Custard with Anchovy Toasts (Cafe Anglais)
Pollock and Chips with Tartare (Toms Place)
There were others, but they stood out!
Saw Angela Harnett, Michel Roux Jnr, Jun Tanaka, Aldo amongst others. High fived the bloke off of Saturday Kitchen. The lunatic Ollie wine bloke.
Good fun, but as mentioned, not cheap.
