Ok I'm planning a small road trip soon and wondering what essentials i should have in my boot.. A box of fuses is already in there, but not really sure what else i might need?

Also I'm thinking about just general things i should own aswell, like a trickle charger? Anything else for a TVR ownership?

Cheers

I guess it depends on how trusting you are, from only carrying a breakdown card to a mini garage. I have both breakdown and a small toolbag with fuses (all types, 100a included), spare serp belt, HT lead, plug extender, rotor arm and a few other small bits & pieces. I also always have some oil & water.
I've (touch wood) never needed any of it though!

I carry only a spare fan belt, water and food, tyre inflater foam and a small pouch of carefully chosen tools.

Mobile phone charger ?
Jump Leads ?

A warm waterproof jacket is a good idea too, as you may have to stand the other side of a motorway barrier in nasty weather...also good for motor sport events, which always seem to be at bone-chillingly cold places.

Generally useful car stuff (at home):

Battery charger with trickle facility.
Trolley jack.
A couple of axle stands.
Steve Heath 'Bible'.
Car cover
As many tools as you can fit in the garage.

I only wish I could be bothered to use mine (tools) these days...would save me a fortune smile

The one I bought from Halfrauds for about thirty quid works fine...make sure it's the trickler type though. Rarely use it anyway.
Drive the car and will take care of itself.... far better for all components.

Fully agree with Mr. Fubes.

Had an accumate for 5 years plus now and Chimaera and Tuscan have always started first time....once when left for 7 weeks when I was abroad!!.

It's an essential accessory.

If your battery won't hold enough charge for 2 weeks, then it's a new (or better) battery you need. yikes

I did a deal with my dealer a few years ago, and got a load of spares for the journey and a bit of training. It was on a sale and return basis, I liked the spares so much I bought them. Todate the only 2 i havwe used are the bulbs and the pressure sender.

In a nutshell I had:

Accelerator cable (a must in a speed 6)
Fuses
100A fuse
Oil (15L)
Spare oil pressure sender
complete range of bulbs
and a good toolkit, TVR used some odd size bits
a torque wrench
and a big torch

Also because I love car washing, two collapsable buckets!
