Police presence getting to Mulsanne straight

I, plus all the chaps I went with, are desperate to know why we got ushered away with everyone else, from the road leading to Mulsanne from Beausejour.
We were halfway along, then suddenly a stload of police drove through and we got very promptly escored away. The police said they couldn't tell us.
Anyone else experience this or know what the hell that was about?

If it was late morning on Saturday, it may well have been the arrival of the French Prime Minister and various other dignatories. I was waiting for my mates near the paddock entrance, and they all got stuck in the tunnel for quite some time whilst the limo's arrived. good job they weren't claustrophobic, but it was a bit hot down there by all accounts. The Corvette boys didn't realise the dignatories were walking past their garages a little later, and promptly fired up the #64 car, sending the suits for cover!

Radio Le Mans confirmed snipers were at the track due to the presence of the PM so entirely possible!
