How Many Vixens on the Road
Discussion
Yes I have to agree you don`t see many..
I try to take my S2 to as many events as possible, but is rare to see another.
I know that some owners who have restored them don`t use them hardly at all..I guess because they are wary of any damage, and of course at present the prices are still rising.
Maybe we should have a roll call to see how many are actually on the road??
Cheers Roy

I believe in using the cars whenever possible. My Vixen was used as every day transport. Admitidly, I did have a scrape in it and eventually the chassis gave up. You cant do anything about the old lady who decides to side swipe you whilst shes driving around the block listening to the Archers on her radio. But you can easily repair any damage and learn from mistakes in your restoration techniqes.
Wrapping the cars up in cotton wool and rolling them out on nice days believing you are helping preserve the car is a bit of a misconception in some respects. Leaving them layed up can just as easily cause a different set of problems.
And although yes the value of these cars does seem to be creeping up, I believe there is a lot of hype out there.
The cars should be used (sorry,,, just my opinion). Yes I'm a glutton for punishment, I've owned my car now for over 15 years and never seen another Vixen whilst out and about in it.

Mine gets used regularly although do avoid the salt in winter now, try to keep it on the road all the time. The chassis swap (old for new)and a number of upgrades a couple of winters ago was completed in less than four months (had been collecting up bits and pieces for a couple of years prior to it. Dewi
That'll be this one then.....
