ignition leads
Discussion
Silicon with a ferrite core and a stainless steel spiral conductor.
Made by Magnecor amongst others.
Straight copper conductor should theoretically be the best but it isnt, as its best to have a little resistance in the leads....cant remeber why tho now..DOH! Sommat to do with superior spark producing abilities and supression.
Carbon ......throw em down the bog, theyre ok for short term usage, but change resistance characteristics over time, and break down eventually causing a loverely misfire.
There, you asked...im worn out now...time for be.....zzzzzz

I think the resistance limits the discharge so you get a less intense but longer spark - which works better.
Also the flux fields created by copper wires interfere with the electronics. The luminition red leads are also good (silicon.) The heat of the aluminium V8 insulated by the fibreglass bodywork kills the carbon leads faster than most cars. Measure each lead and decide whether it looks a bit short. 'Standard' Rover V8 kits have varying lengths of lead. Note especially the length to the coil.

Speak to Tim at ACT they stock the full range of magnecor
I've got the race ones on my Tiv, definate difference and should never need changing again, not cheap at £90 though
Got the Magnecors for Der Golf from (and dont larf) Halfords... was 59.99,special offer(end of line) i paid? 29.99... Happy bunny here, and excellent fit....now to wind it up!
