Kielder Forest

Right me and my mate (Grizedale mate) are off to Kielder Forest in the next few weeks, a weekend camping up there and riding for a couple of days.

Anyone been before, and know a good site? For a tent and a car. We'd prefer it to be close enough to the trails that we could leave the car at the site.

Also, a place that allows an open fire - do they allow that at campsites these days?

Don't know any trails, sites etc, but a mate just spent 2 days up there. What a mess, I've never seen anyone with so many midge bites, covered head to toe. One lad had to have some sort of ticks removed by a local G.P.

Father moon lives not far from Kielder and I am going to up visiting him during July. I'll have the bike with me so if you want to meet up for a ride then just drop me a PM.

I've not ridden the trails at Kielder but i hear they are very good
