Despite my user name I am also an alfa holic with a 155 two litre , 156 V6 and 147 (wifes) 16v JTD.
Any way -the ABS light has come on on the 155. Does any one know how to get it diagnosed without going to main dealer. My local garage can not find how to connect the computer.up to it .

Well-I have had a go with the self diagnosis function and code 43 is the answer! which is a non connected front right side sensor. I presume that means 'drivers side' and as there are no connectors close to the wheel I presume the sensor has given up the ghost. Does any one know where the other end of the sensor lead connects so I can check that?
For an Italian car this self diagnosis is truly surprising as electics are usually not their strong point!!.

Wonder if front right side is when you're looking at the car???

Anyway...can't help with where the sensor leads go, probably near to the ABS unit? Have you chased the wires back from the hub?

My guess is the sensor ring may be fubar.

I managed to speak to Adrian at Platts today. The nearest connector is the top of the RH strut.Evidently it is fairly common for the wires to break within the wire from the sensor to that connector due to the suspension movements.
So that is the next thing to check. A new sensor is about £70 so I hope I can mend the break in the wire.
Thanks again for your help.
