My New Camera :D

Ok so i have just received a rather nice 40 D! Thought i would share it as im quite excited! I will look forward to posting some new pics! It got me thinking though, at 17 what kind of cameras would you have had?

When I was 17 I think I was using my grandma's Halina 35mm compact! And an occasional go with my fathers Minolta 35mm SLR and Yashica-D TLR (where cocking the shutter was a separate function from winding on, so splendid for multiple exposures, grrr! He loved B/W; I preferred colour and thought of B/W as a special effect. And of course now it is

Still in the family somewhere, I think my brother in Dubai has it.
Had a Sigma zoom lens for it, can't remember what focal length though, have not seen it for 15 years or so

Good choice Leighton, I'm certainly enjoying mine.

My first proper camera was a Praktica Nova:



It was originally my Dad's and I had 2 lenses for it, but no idea what they were. It is probably still in my Mum's loft so maybe I will dig it out one day and see if it still works.

Good choice with the 40D!

This is my camera history from the age of 17 (that feels a very long time ago...)

Canon EOS 1000FN -> Canon EOS 300D -> Canon EOS 40D

Before the 1000FN I had a Praktica, can't remember the model and I sold it to help pay for the 1000FN.
