anyone ever used Rennspeed (porsche specialist) in retford?

i am looking to get a car inspected and they charge £200 + vat and do not seem to be over interested to perform the task...

I found a car i like and do not know where to get a thorough inspection?

Strasse is an option but a bit far 70 miles from where the car is... and do not know the guys there either.

Yes a guy called ben runs it he knows my dad very well...he knows his stuff and always has lots of projects on the go.... would worth giving him a call...

I know Rennspeed used to be called Formula Fuchs.
Ben is a good bloke and has worked on all my 911's.
I live at Sheffield and the only other specialist close by is Millbrooke, IMO not impressed with these guys.

Formulae Fuchs made a hash of my car's gearbox - not once but 3 times! I've heard it alleged that their former proprietor is a convicted fraudster. (I only found this out once they had my car! )

Ben comes across as a nice, affable guy. But frankly he did a less than spectacular job of rebuilding my engine (didn't replace the exhaust valves) and then proceeded to charge three times what he'd estimated..

Could also try out Zentrum in Calverton (Nottinghamshire) - wouldn't surprise me if Mike or James did checks..

Zentrum left me in the sh!t once which is why I chose to go to Rennspeed and they provided an impeccable service.

Yep, I wouldn't say that Zentrum is perfect.. But I think they'd be more than capable of doing a basic inspection.

The best guy of the lot - by a country mile - is Adrian at AMB Porsche. (But he's pretty busy and I was wanting to keep him to myself)

new to this but also have my old 911 at Ben at Rennspeed for gearbox rebuild and VERY alarmed by the comments on here especially from TJ930....does anyone have recent experience of Ben at Rennspeed as I have found him incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and reasonable on cost!
