V6 2.9 engine emissions

Firstly apologies for not keeping up to date on all of the threads however I thought this might be of interest.
The TVR would tend to run on when the accelerator was released for about 10 seconds along with other niggles such as when free wheeling to a stop the engine would blip like motorbikes do but they do it on purpose. The short term fix was to unplug the idle control connection but fuel consumption went up.
At MOT time the car was dubious on the emissions - the only problem - and although it passed it had been nagging me to sort it.
Cutting a long story short I came by a Granada 2.9 with tax and MOT for just over £100 and purchased same.
I had taken the TVR to 'The Garage' at Guildford who guided me to the connections to the throttle pot and idle speed control and although I cleaned same there was no improvement.
I decided to swop the enitre air inlet manifold complete with sensors and also the idle speed control unit - note here from a much earlier thread about swopping the 'J' plate to a straight - standard on the granada !
The entire job including a thorough clean through took about an hour and all systems now normal. I took the TVR back to 'The Garage' and the emissions were tested and were spot on without adjustment.
The car with its the replacement bits or the straight throttle plate is much more lively.
Not so the Granada although it works with the TVR manifold the auto box wants to pour its contents out so this may mean a one way trip to the breakers in the not too distant.
