Have no idea whether this should be on the Le Mans, Chimaera or this section but here goes....need to know what beam deflectors I need to apply when driving sur le continent. Have a 450 Chimaera (late 1997). Haven't checked out Halfrauds yet but don't know what model of jallopy the headlights come from (Ford, GM, Skoda?!) Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for you suggestions (oh, I've already considered the 'don't bother at all' answer and may still go with that!).

I'm not bothering,I didn't last year either, mainly because I didn't need to drive in the dark!

You can just buy some general purpose ones that you have to cut to shape in line with the markings on your headlamp. Bought some for my Chim and I'm sure they came from Halfruads or my local motor spares shop.

I'll be using the cheap & cheerful 'black electrical tape' method on mine.

Usually does the job & doesn't cost anything

This we like but might go for the blue electrical tape in a vain effort to not clash with the paintwork!

In my many trips to France I've never bothered. I keep a set in the boot just in case but have never had any trouble!

Even in daylight, if you don't them fitted the French BiB can be stroppy.

I got pulled out of the middle of a stream of cars. Only the English were stopped.

Asked "if I had anything to declare" Saying "yes, we are miles from the nearest customs border where I would need to declare anything" probably didn't help.

I had a set of beam deflectors with me and was booked onto a ferry before dusk that day. Got away with it, but was told they could have done me.

I do have HID on my Griff. Still looking for good ideas how to mask them for France. Anyone got a good idea?

All euro Bibs are clapping down on illegal headlight beams, 1st time I went to Germany lots of people were getting pissed off at me because my lights were shining in their eyes. You can buy cheap kits on the ferry that give you diagrams of where to fit them on your lights. The can't just be triangular shapes any more, sorry!
