Guys...Pete anyone!
Am wanting to cover my luggage areas with that thin ribbed anti-everything carpet from Woolies and on fixing the ally tops to the pods wondered how best to finish the outside edge and if there is enough clearance between the door and the sill?
In addition - where the carbon cover sits in its hole, is there enough gap to wrap the carpet inside the lip?
I know some of you have already done this so hoping to benefit from your experience?
In addition another anomoly - at the front of the cabin area at the front bulkhead I notice the wiring for such things as the washer-bottle and that big cable with lots of brown wires taped together (presumably the + for the battery) all finish above and in the middle of the front rail and already have their terminals on. (or have I got them in the wrong place, as its not clear on the instructions and I used some pictures for ref.)
Since there is a bulkhead in-between the only options are:
1. To drill big holes in the bulhead and pass the wiring through from the inside with a humungous grommet
2. To cut the terminals off and make a smaller hole.
3. To pass the cables over the rail but then the body would have to be cut and I don't like that Idea
4. Reroute/extend these cable so they go back out the side and around the Lhand side and back in to the battery area.
or sommat else?
Whats the best idea?

I stopped my carpet at the end of the ali and covered with a carbon angle along it's length. The carpet on mine goes upto and is trimmed to the edge of the cover hole. The lip that the lid sits on was covered with 3mm felt so that the lids don't rattle, and are raised to the same level as the carpet. I don't think you'll get anything to tuck in, unless you shave material off your covers (wouldn't bother with that).

Think you may find the general purpose ribbed carpet just a little to thick and because it is very visible in the door opening you will have to be very straight with the ribs or it will look s

I sewed carpet edging tape along the door opening which works fine. Glue the carpet down over the box opening then when dry cut around the opening with a surgical scalpel.
Your bundle of cables would as you say have to go through the bulkhead to the battery positive terminal.
On my car I have taken the battery main red lead into an FIA cut-out switch fitted through the front of the drivers side box between the pulls for the front clip. The main cable leaving the switch goes on back to the starter and another stays inside the body along the top of the chassis rail above your feet and into the fuse/relay area where it goes through a big fuse block before connecting to the bundle of brown wires and other additions I have made.
The washer cable goes through the bulkhead with a grommet.
