have to say the fact that you didn't get paid is a bit of a downer, they really shouldn't be able to get hold of photography of that quality for free

If your picture was a getty (owned) image, they would have had to pay upwards of 1K to use it,

Well done Leighton, I was looking at that very same picture last night You must have either camped out for months on end, or PS'ed it up to get those colours!

P.S. Have you seen the pictures on the back page? Some of them were so bad, I even considered sending some of my own in, but apathy kicked in as usual...

haha , noo it was just pure luck! Me and a friend popped to take some snaps and one of the guys that lives literally next to it said that the sun sets in that particular spot (casting really nice rays onto the pier) once a year.

As for the footballer, i don't know. I actually think my name came from a darts player, Leighton Reece! Not quite as glamorous as football but hey they are both fun!

Did you submit it specifically for their magazine ? Just wondered if you start to see it appearing elsewhere on the council's brochures without a thought for recompense to you.
