tvr 350i distributor
Discussion
hi,
is there a replacement for the orginal distributor on a 350i if so where do i start looking for one and is anyone running a non standed/up rated one,
why i am asking is that i replaced my cap and arm about 3000 miles ago and it has started to mess about all ready so i replaced it with a spare that i have with has stopped a miss fire i was getting.
im trying to find something more reliable
and any idea off cost
thanks
tony

well the arm looks ok but the cap has arking marks on the alley pick ups, they don't look to bad, i did notice today that the rota sem has a very small amount off play from side to side, maybe the play is enough to wear the dizzy cap,
what do you think
tony
p.s i got them from a land rover dealer a bit over £30.00+vat

Cap and arm sound OK. Try putting the previous cap back on to see if the problem re-occurs. Could be a lead problem. Be careful money wise. If you replace every electrical component one by one guessing at the problem it will become expensive. If you cannot borrow bits then it will be best to visit an auto-electric specialist. What part of the country are you in? Local TVR meetings can be very helpful and useful.
