Took the O/Hs Leon 2.0 TDi for it's first service yesterday - inspection 1. £254. Not bad until you factor in that that's every 10K miles! The next - inspection 2 - will be more. So we're looking at about £600 every 20K miles.

I have an Audi A4 3.0 TDi. It's variable service intervals average 19K. The first one is around £450 I believe. So how comes a Seat is more than an Audi to service?

I do approx 25k miles per year in my 2.0 Ref Sport 2 litre tdi and I generally pay £110 for the oil change service (every 10k) and approx £240 for an inspection service (every 20k).

My advice would be to find out exactly what services garages are including in the price. Many will assume an inspection service every 10k as this is generally annually.
