(Cheap) Way to measure 0-60 and 0-100 times?

.I only want to try it once or twice just to get a feel for it - not really into breaking any world records (if only). My talent will run out far earlier.
Also might be interesting to see what it thinks my power is compared to the RR figures.

Oh and I know a guy with the driftbox which is the same unit with different firmware. It consistently under estimates his lap times by 2 seconds! (was tested with a DL1 and driftbox in car at same time)

ditto)I've only used it once. There are no roads around here good enough to try more than the 0-60 time.
get the gtech pro rr version and it downloads graphs to your pc.
at the end of the day pure accuracy doesnt really matter, if you allways use the same device you can monitor the improvemnet or not by repeat runs.
had a gtech rr before and found it quite good, does braking distance as well

Wrong. Driftbox and VBOX Mini both do. Odd that that Driftbox was so far out. I've seen them being spot on to the nearest 1/10sec over a long period. Something not right there....The Driftbox has a 2 axis accelerometer, but this is used for alignment of the gyro for measurement of drift angles. Driftbox used a 10Hz GPS engine with no interpolation of data, which is also logged at a rate of 10 Hz. Lateral and longitudinal acceleration is calculated from GPS engine data.

It isn't even a gyro they use for measuring drift, its a magnetometer which is complete s
te when not perfectly level although adequate for this task I guess.On the timing issue, not sure what the issue is, but it seems they might just add up the samples to get the lap time so with any drop out you lose updates and it gets it wrong. Odd as the GPS signal has a very accurate time stamp. This guys unit is consistently rubbish! Maybe its a duff firmware revision.
In comparison, DL1 has 2 accelerometers at 20hz, is software upgradeable to 20hz gps (if recent unit), can have a gyro to measure drift at build (my unit was first off the production line with it).
