It's been suggested to me that a RWYB event at www.shakespearecountyraceway.com might be a bit of fun. Depending on numbers we might be able to get a few of the specialist manufacturers along too to show their wares etc.

What's the feeling?

I did a RWYB at Santa Pod at the end of last year, it was a good laugh. Although a slightly damp track, 230bhp and front-wheel drive in a big lardy saloon are not exactly the best combo. I managed 16.5secs.

Would this be a pistonheads only event or a public one?

I'll give it another go.

A PistonHeads only event is what I was thinking of. Depends on the level of interest...

When were you thinking of ? Roughly speaking of course. I'd be interested if I had the car finished by then.

Sounds brilliant, and not too far from me. Can we put some slalom gates half way down just to make it interesting?

Cheers,

They host trackdays at Avon Park as well. I don't know if the drag strip and the circuit can be run together, we could do both or 1/2 & 1/2 morning RWUB afternoon circuit.
Depending on date I'd be interested .

Sounds good, as long as you ban anyone with a Fiat 500 fitted with a V8 on Nitros, running sub 10s 1/4's

I used to live just 3 miles from Avon park! (When I started driving you could get onto the dragstrip and race up it whe there was no-one there - great fun

Quite a good strip too, used to go there for the Mini shows and race my brother's Mini...

I'd be up for it if it's quite cheap (it's that time of year again - no more dosh for a while )

Sounds good - obviously you need to ensure you organise the requisite number of burger vans etc..

Any ideas when you'd be thinking of?

That sounds like a laugh! Could be profitable too, if you have a Transit and a job lot of Bridgestones!

OK, I'll see what dates I can get and what sort of numbers we'd require to make it viable.

Count me in (date and cost dependant).
Sounds like an excellent social, too.

Why does everyone want to beat Benno?
I like a good steet brawl (yeah, right) as much as the next guy, but that seems a little tight.
You could call it the 'PistonHeads RWYB and Benno Beating Day.
