CD player

I know this is strictly not TVR, but the pioneer cd player is acting up. On start up, no matter which of the 6 cd's is "on" it stutters and won't play. If I press the change button the cd changes and plays as normal until you stop the car, start up and then it won't play again. Any of you techno wizards have a clue?

Well I thought I might get some clue so I am trying again, does it need a clean? (if that can be done)or is it passed it's sell by date?

There's nothing off hand that I can think of that would cause that kind of symptom and without sitting and metering through cabling then its hard to dismiss some sort of power fault causing the problem in teh first place.

TBH given the cost of head units and autochangers its quite possibly just uneconomic to try to get the unit diagnosed and fixed.

You could try regreasing the laser mech and cleaning the laser with a cotton bud (very lightly)
