I have just found my chassis number, it had been painted over, and have deduced that it was built in '89 and is number 17. I would like to find out the history of the car, what team it was with (possibly Team Central) and who drove it, plus any wins etc. Whom am I best to contact, John Reid at the factory?
Also how many chassis have been made, anyone have a newish car?

Thanks in anticipation, Al.

29

J.R has all the info on all the cars produced, and I think that TVR made 60 Tuscans, give or take a few.

I'm just buying a Tuscan Challenge car and would be grateful if someone could tell me where the chassis number is located ?

Also should there be a V5 document as per a road car - its not SVA'd and I have no intention of making it road legal.

Cheers !

I assume the factory will do the same thing for the challenge cars as for road going...... I called them just before christmas to get history and details for our "new" 96/P Chim (I didn't suspect anything, I'm just interested in what I have just bought). I got a report telling me the original spec, when (date and miles) and where servicing has been done, a check on if it has been crash damaged etc etc. £35. Sounded good to me, so it's now in the history folder for the car

You would only get a V5 if it is registered for the road.

John Reid is very helpful and offered to this check for me this week.

By the way does anyone know which team (if any) ran a metallic purple Tuscan with a pink nose (the car, not the driver ) ?

I contacted John Reid end of last week and he seems very helpful - sounds like he can give you all the history if you know the previous owner or chassis number.

By the way does anyone know which team (if any) ran a purple Tuscan with a pink nose (the car not the driver ) ?

Cheers
