considering that the main gta is based in scotland you would have thought that they would make a game based around london?

They already did, albeit a good few years ago, before the GTA brand became the all-conquering world-beating one it is today.

I hope they do make a London one, imagine how cool it would be driving past your own house in GTA and RPGing the neighbours you don't like

yeah but im mean with updated graphics. the only game that comes close would be the getaway.
its not like it wouldnt be a boring storyline, not with all these hoodies around! with gangs and clans.
