If (in windows, mac users find your default install location) you browse to Adobe Photoshop CS3/CS2/CS/7 then continue to your plugins folder and rename the folder called "Digimarc" to "~Digimarc", it will considerably increase photoshops opening time.
I reacon it cuts it down from about 20-25 seconds to about 8-10 biggrin

But will it give me a faster DOF more slowly?

OK, numpty question - why does this cut down the opening time?

I think it does away with the Digimark section...cancels it out or similar.

It's not my invention...I was told about it on another forum and it works.

Suspect the Digimarc filters take a while to load, and changing the folder name means PS can't find them and thus can't load them. Downside of this tip is, of course, if you want to use them hehe But I never have so I will give it a try thumbup

Edit: Seems to load faster smile

Cheers, I never use those filters anyway so will give this a whirl.

I do fear that I'm on the slipepry slope downwards to more IT spend. PC is struggling with CS3 and layers as I only have 1Gb of RAM (PC maxed out) and it takes just under 20 minutes to suck in a 2GB card of data.

Am I missing something? Just timed mine opening in just over 5 seconds without changing anything, the computer is a Toshiba P200-1JV
