Quick question, does the black renovo hood restorer stuff soak through the canvas and appear on the inside, which is of course pale cream colour? Rich...

Rich,

I recently used the blue Renovo on the hood of my Tamora without it soaking through into the lamonta trim on the inside, (the splashes I got on my jeans won't wash out though!).

I've used Renova for 2 - 3 years on my S3. Although the roof was originally blue, I paint it black - the inside is pale grey and the black does not come through. Not sure if your hood is the same material. My S3 appears to be some sort of MDF with a covering.

Even so, the Renova comes off with water if you wash it off immediately.

I've used Renovo restore several times on two TVRs (Griffs) and there's no sign of any soaking through to the inside. It looks like ink, but wipe off any splashes before it dries.

NB I've never seen an S3 with an MDF roof!! Better for coffee tables surely?

I Just did my blue hood a few weeks ago and it DID come through to the inside!

Also, I was quite dissapointed with the results on the outside.

I did mine yesterday . I've got a starmist blue, with dark blue hood. I brought the dark blue bottle, but imagine my surprise that once I started to paint it on, it came out bright blue, i.e not matching the roof colour at all . I stood there looking at it for about 2 minute's (in - not sure what to do mode) as I was sure this was going to ruin my roof. Thought oh well I've done it now, I'll have to carry on. and within about 20 minute's the colour had faded and had darkened the roof.

I'm going to give it another coat this weekend, but initially it seems cool. My roof wasn't that faded, so I don't think it's done as much as I was hoping for. It is probably best on cars which live outside lots (mine doesn’t). Although it has covered 3 marks on the roof which I've previously tried all-sorts to get rid of - .

And mine doesn’t seemed to have leaked through, as this is water based surely it will only leak through as much as water does. So if your roof leaks then yes it will, if the roof doesn’t leak, then no it wont..

Besure to water proof afterwards, prehaps seeing some of the responses here some of you could add these comments to the reviews section.
Cant see that mine came through anywhere but it is Black on the inside too.
