Chim ECU in V8s?

I read somewhere the last of the V8s's had the chim ecu which gave better performance or at least a better power delivery.

Does anyone know if there would be any benefit to a swap?

I suspect it was a chim ecu because basically it was a catalyst chim spec engine fitted to the last V8S models (like mine), so unless you have a cat car there's no point using the chim ecu, and if you do have a cat car there's also no point changing as you have that ecu already.

Is there a difference between the cat spec Chim engine and the non- cat (apart from tuner colour, or whatever it's called, in the ECU ) ?

Mine is a '95 Chim HC engine, pre-serp, with typhoon cam, originally cat spec fitted into 400SE without cats of course, but using matching chim ECU tuned for non cat.
