'Bunny Hopping' S3 - Help Wanted

Hi

Wonder whether anyone can point me in the right direction to finding what's causing my 1991 S3 to 'bunny hop' at low revs.

The car is fine once you 'put your foot down', however, setting off is becoming somewhat of a 'jerky' experience.

Not being that mechanically minded - where do I start looking for the cause.

Vaild point, well made - to be fair it still does it when the engine has warmed up.

It only started doing it on Sunday - no previous problems.

OK? This shows how dim I am - where do I find the throttle pot and what do I do when I find it?

Theres a blurry picture of it on page 58, bottom picture.
The throttle pot tells the engine electronic control unit what position the throttle is in - so it is fitted on the end of the throttle shaft that turns when you press the accelerator.

They wear out - so what should happen is it sends a voltage thats proportional to the throttle position - but when worn it sends values that are all over the place and the poor ECU hasn't got a clue what day it is!
