Accident repair advice needed please
Discussion
I'm hoping you can here PHers. I'm helping out a friend who has had an accident in her Tuscan, she doesn't post on here, so she has asked for my help and I don't know the answer.
Basically she's has an accident in her car, no other cars involved and had the car taken to her "dealer of choice" they are an offical TVR dealer.
She has been told the car isn't a write off and the insurance company will repair it but they say the quite from the offical TVR dealer is a few grand over the odds and they're not happy about the method the dealer is going to repair the car.
She was told by her insurance company that she could have the work done by her chosen garage but she'd need to make up the difference in cost - clearly she doesn't want to do this. Additionally she doesn't want to have the car worked on by a non-TVR dealer because her dealer have already told her they will underwrite the repairs and buy the car off her when she comes to sell if they do the repairs.
What should she do?
Thanks for reading.

Waits for the first post asking whether she's fit...
I didn't realise the insurance company could refuse to pay the full amount if they disagree with the cost. Surely it's down to personal preference where you get it repaired, considering you're the one paying your own insurance I would have thought it's their duty to pay up if you're covered.
Couldn't she just say that it has to go to a specialist otherwise it invalidates the warranty?

Has the insurer even noticed its a GRP car and not metal ? Is there tame repairer even experienced with GRP ?
Usually if you avoid the official repairer you lose out on free loan cars etc, but that is all normally.
Repairs, preperation and subsequent painting of GRP is much more labour intensive than that required by a metal car, so cost will be higher.
They also shouldn't be able to argue as its a TVR dealer (whatever that is now !).
