Digital camera for 13 year old

[JulesV]

Hi

It is my younger daughter's birthday soon and she wants a digital camera. Not knowing much about such things has anyone any recommendations?

It needs to be nice and compact, reasonable quality and sturdy. I don't really want to spend more than £100. Any suggestions gratefully received!

What's the one with the ad where the kid chucks it round the garden and then runs it under the hose?

[Simpo Two]

That's an Olympus.

Thanks Simpo, that would be my choice. Just looked and it's a bit over budget though...
