Bullit cam advise please
Discussion
Help/ experience of please , currently running a "actioncameras 420 line" bullet cam and a Canon miniDv as a recording devise , pic quality is great and good enough for dvd production etc- problem is with all the crashing rattles n bangs etc from MTBing and the cold from snowboarding the camcorders are becoming evermore unreliable, so my question is how do other folks record footage and importantly what is the quality like?
PS ive been looking at buying one of these , anyone else got one?

Im a video cameraman by trade-
I've done quite a bit of in car filming, and to be honest, I find handycams great as portable recorders for recording bullet cam footage onto.
When doing a rig setup in a rally car, i choose to use some solid state recorders
, made by http://www.chasecam.com/
They recorded in mpeg2 format (which meant i could transfer the footage to dvds with no transcoding), and onto compact flash cards.
They worked great- there was a quality drop, but it was an acceptable sacrifice.
Those flash recorders might be a bit bulky for mtbing and the like though
