You could try some silicon based cleaner as it might be the rubbers getting dry and creaking. Take the roof off, spray some cockpit cleaner or something similar over the rubber seals, rub off the excess, refit the roof. Go for a long drive via a pub or two to see if it has fixed it.
If it has, making mental note to buy that nice man a pint next time you see him!!
If not, try approach b, which is take the roof off and hope it doesn't rain........

If you look at the top... around the edges, they used to put the soft side of Velcro on them to stop the itching against the body trim.

You can also apply fresh GM silicon on the weather stripping and a little greese on the base of the rear pins.

I've just got a C5 and found my targa creaks on the right side catch. Will the silicon fix it or does it need the brackets adjusting to get a tighter fit?

Also, is it normal for the boot floor too be a hot area after a long drive. My luggage has come out cooked!!

Stopped mine creaking,

Silicone spray the rubbers on both sides of targa, plus the receiver catches (not the ones attached to the roof section),also where the seals make contact on the removable roof section, wipe some silicone spray there! and the noise goes completely.

What year is yours ? I think the 2000 models onwards had better heat insulation. Having said that, my 2002 does noticeably warm the luggage in the undefloor bins even though stuff on the top is OK.

Its a 2001 car.
Maybe as a newbie to the C5 I should start a new thread as I've so mnay questions and have hijacked this thread!
Another question is where is the best place to buy a rear Goodyear EMT tyre as mine came with a nail and is beyond repair.
Also it displays 'service column lock'. After reading the USA forums my car being a 2001 auto shouldn't have this problem so why the warning? As it's still under warranty Crownhill will be taking a look soon. Any UK advice??

PS I bought "S123 USA" reg to put on it but have changed my mind. Any readers interested?
