My friend has Karting Nord camping tickets (I haven't got one yet) & assures me that they're not pitch assigned.

Then reading on here, some body's received Karting Nord tickets with a pitch number on.

What's going on confused

But then I see this on Beermountain.com

"2008 Update There are no changes to karting Nord this year - it will not have any numbered spaces and size & facilities remain the same."

I guess you have to go by the actual ticket. If it's got a numbered pitch on it, they're probably going to be allocated.

Beermountain isn't gospel, neither is the Club Arnage guide or any other "fan guide". I had a phone call from Just Tickets who told me that KN was being zoned and allocated. Thats how we got 2 large pitches intead of 4 normal ones. These tickets aren't even advertised on the official ACO guide either which took JT by surprise.

So any idea what the zones will be? Surely the ACO must publish some info beforehand?!

1st Tickets told me that it was numbered pitches. Any idea how big a pitch is?

I've just had a reply from the ACO to try and find out where our pitches are, all I got was "we have no map to send". Next try is Just Tickets to see if they've got any idea, being one of the offical ticket agents they might have more details.

JT don't have any idea either.

How is it that the ACO and an official ticket agent have sold tickets but don't know where they are? OK, I can understand JT not having the info but the ACO must do, they distribute the tickets.

Typical lazy Frenchie types I guess.

Just spoke to my pal who said his never had a pitch number..... and he's not so confident now....... leads me to think they are all numbered smile

So, as there doesn't appear to be a map....It's either turn up & get directed/find you allocated pitch or..... there are no allocated pitches and the numbers have been printed accidentally.

The latter being very doubtful.

I presume this will cause a problem for people who have booked their tickets individually but wanted to camp together as a group.

I've just emailed the ACO from another email address to try and get through the Fort Knox security they've placed on KN pitch numbers.

All I've got so far is that the large pitches are normally around the edge - no use to me.

As for people who've booked separately, yep there'll be trouble and lots of split up groups.

This really sucks. frown

What was wrong with Karting nord without alocated pitches?!

I have to wonder how they're going to enforce it though? I don't see some sticks with plastic tape lasting long...

As a group going down with 4 cars, 9 people, we have asked for 4 pitches. 1st-tickets.co.uk said they were numbered upon booking them. As such I asked for 4 pitches together.

Would be a shame and hassle to be split up. We're going down Wednesday. Getting there after lunch.

Well there are 14 of us going in 7 cars. We've got 7 pitches together but weren't told exactly where they are. I've got the numbers on our tickets.

Seeing as they have gone ahead with these allocated pitches this year, it would be a shame if they don't manage the site properly and just let it be a free for all. Otherwise, there are going to be plenty of angry people about, who have booked and got pitches together.
